Peter & Paul's 2014 Tour
....... In a galaxy far away a long time ago my interest in bikes started to emerge, my elder brother Peter bought a brand new Red Hercules 10 speed bike in 1962, and I was envious. Although I never had my own bike I had assorted rides on fixed wheelers etc. but it was not until I purchased my own black bike in the early 1980's for $120 (courtesy of a tax refund). My initial interest was to ride with the children locally.

As my team sport activities where drawing to a close I was invited by John Mooney (John possessed a classy Gitanes) to undertake a longer ride round the back of Lysterfield Park and returning via Wellington Road. I remember having to dismount (Christmas Crackered) on Stud Road where the old drive-in was.The distance was approx. 25klm (I thought this was an incredible distance).

From this point my interest interest increased and my training routine before work was, ride to VFL Park, complete two laps and return home (10 klm). I continued to ride with various friends such as Eddie the Dutchy Van Lewis and Joe The Flying Scotsman McPherson.Next challenge was to ride to work and home. Then in 1993 John mentioned we should enter the 'Ride Around the Bay In A Day' (210 klm). We both entered, started training and 100,000 klm later...........
Then along came Ross The Jedi Master Sanelli. He introduced me to a whole new world of cycling. Ross is a great mentor and coach, and has owned and ridden most of the best bikes around. Ross even had the pleasure of riding my classic Hillman Sun Tour Racer which I managed to clock up over 50,000 klm. What was that name you gave to my Hillman Ross?
Ross also introduced me to mountain bike riding. Ross enjoys collecting bikes and myself and Peter are the lucky owners of some of his ex bikes. Ross if you ever consider parting with your C59 Colnago, I have the box the it goes in. Sarah is excited by the prospect of another bike in the home!!!!
